Lander had a big pull for my husband Brian and myself in the mid to late 90’s, small town, amazing community, great year round climbing, access to the Wind Rivers. In 2000 Wild Iris Mountain Sports made it possible for my husband and I to relocate. The amazing community has grown, I still enjoy climbing and have a newer affinity for long day hikes into the Wind Rivers with Nel my always game 11# miniature poodle. #girlsbestfriend 😊 I consider myself one of the lucky ones and am incredibly grateful, I get to live in a great town, play in our beautiful backyard and work with an amazing team of folks at WIMS.

I wandered for many years as a wildland firefighter and rock climber, but when Todd and I arrived at Wild Iris,I knew I was home! We opened Wild Iris Mountain Sports to support ourselves, employ our climbing partners and, almost 30 years later, I am grateful for the many wonderful WIMS team members, past and present, who add so much to life in Lander, the crags in our back yard and the Wind River range.

My favorite place to be found is the back porch of our “mountain house” waiting for the last light on the North Country and sharing stories and s’mores with my fab children Hannah, Brogan, Sarah and Jake

I grew up on the Chesapeake Bay's Eastern Shore of Maryland and spent my entire childhood on or in the water. In 2011 I made the decision to move to Wyoming for no other reason than I loved the state. I joined the Wild Iris family in the summer of 2013 and I am starting to think that I was meant to be more than just seasonal help. When I'm in the shop I can probably be found talking over a map or showing off my favorite pants. When I'm not in the shop, you have a good chance of finding me hiking, skiing, pretending to fish, or reading a book somewhere in the Wind River Range with my husband Austin and our dog Lucy. I am so proud to be a member of the Lander community and to be a part of the WIMS Fam sharing my experiences.

Wyoming born, I grew up in Cody. I was introduced to climbing my sophomore year of high school; since then, in some form or another, it has been a constant presence in my life. I spend my time developing new routes and boulders when I am not at the shop. I joined the Wild Iris team in March of 2012 and have enjoyed the experience and opportunity. I absolutely appreciate my co-workers and am happy being an integral part of this cornerstone business supported so greatly by the Lander community and beyond!

Originally from the Midwest, I'm proud to call Wyoming my home, and more specifically, Lander. I'm here to become a better climber, keep skiing, and spend as much time as I can in The Winds.

I hope to meet as many people as I can, here at Wild Iris, who share my passion for the outdoors!

In pursuit of a change in scenery and new adventures, Hannah recently relocated to Lander in August 2018 from Santa Fe, NM. She grew up in the mountains of Colorado and loves to explore all the West has to offer. Hannah enjoys hiking, camping, backpacking, downhill skiing, snow-shoeing, and anything else the outdoors has to offer. Being outdoors and submerged in nature is like therapy to Hannah and she needs it to maintain her sanity. When not at the shop, or exploring the outdoors, Hannah is a freelance interiors draftsperson and designer.

Mark has lived in Lander for 20 years, and has spent much of that time wandering around the mountains of Wyoming underneath an enormous pack. He prefers backpacking in the Absaroka Mountains to the Wind River Range (shhh...), and has recently discovered the distinct pleasures of exploring the Great Divide Basin by bicycle.

While roped up, Mark favors Wind River and Teton alpine routes, and Cody water ice. If forced to sport climb, he is partial to Fairfield Hill and the Aspen Grade Wall.

Mark is often joined on his adventures by his wife, Susannah Bletner, and their son, Reuben. Mark has an embarrassingly long work history- including librarian, trail crew grunt, registrar, bookseller, janitor, and teacher- and is delighted to be spending his semi- retirement with the wonderful Wild Iris community.
